- First of all, hover over to the Windows 11 Start menu.
- Thereafter, click on the search button and search for Command Prompt. Then, open it using the admin rights.
- Now, execute the given command in order to open the list of available Linux distros on your device:
wsl --list
- Thereafter, to create the backup execute this command:
wsl --export DISTRO-NAME PATHFILE-NAME.tar
That’s it. Now, make sure to replace the DISTRO-NAME with the real name of your Linux Distro on your system. Also, change the PATHFILE-NAME.tar to the folder or location where you want to store this backup file.Â
Note:Â If you forget to give the location where you want to store this backup, the system will automatically save it on your C drive on whichever drive you are using as a system drive.
